Update on our funding journey (spoiler alert, it’s a good one)
Something B I G has happened recently. The email we’ve been hoping for finally landed in our inbox…
“Good news - you’ve got the funding”
We’re really proud to share that ThroughFilm has been awarded funding from the National Lottery Environmental Awards For All.
Some of you might remember us working with Cultivate Tees Valley last year, helping to promote their incredible environmental work. It was while spending time on their site - talking, listening, and learning from the Cultivate community, that an idea began to take shape. We realised there was a real opportunity to bring together what we do best with something that genuinely matters.
So over the next 18 months, we’ll be delivering an Environmental Education and Digital Advocacy project with young people in Stockton-on-Tees. The aim is simple, but ambitious; to support young people to better understand environmental responsibility and give them the tools to speak up about it. Through a series of workshops, we’ll explore the changes our planet needs, help participants research local and global environmental issues, and turn that knowledge into action - using filmmaking and storytelling as the vehicle. Not just to inform or learn, but to advocate and be heard, and to shape the future they’re inheriting.
We are SO excited to get started!
