We’re a film production CIC based in the North East of England. Our purpose is to make high quality storytelling more accessible and affordable for VCSE sector organisations.

Empower your community

Our goal is to amplify the voice of the community and drive positive change. Whether you want to educate, spread awareness, or celebrate your achievements, we will collaborate with you to define the best method of bringing your mission to life. We’re all about building long-lasting and trusting partnerships with the organisations we work with.

How can we work together?

Every non-profit has different needs. Below are all the ways in which we can work together.

Funding

We can collaborate with you to apply for funding to incorporate video within your community projects.

This might look like submitting a joint application, applying ourselves to deliver specific projects, or providing you with a quote for our services to include in your own funding bid.

Tailor made films

Maybe your organisation already has funds in place to get your video project started.

We listen to your organisational needs and come up with creative ideas to showcase the impact you are making, whilst considering your budget.

Consultancy & Training

We can help you, your staff, or your service users gain skills in video production by creating bespoke workshops. These include topics like how to create engaging content using equipment you may already have (like your phone) through to how to optimise your content creation for social media.

Types of Films

We have years of experience delivering high-quality films for a range of different industries. Below are some of the different types of films we love working on, with a little intro on each.

We’re more than happy to chat with you to evolve some of your ideas further or start from scratch and advise on the best course of action depending on your objectives.

Evaluation

A perfect way to measure the immeasurable.

Funding evaluation processes can be lengthy (to write, read and gather data on). Where appropriate, video can help simplify this process.

Evaluating your projects through film instantly tells the impact of the story. It gives the personal experience that numbers on paper can’t.

Promotional

A great way to embody who you are and showcase your organisation’s story, culture, values and successes.

Promo films are memorable and succinct, they create intrigue and increase brand awareness. So if you want to leave an impression, stand out on social media, drive traffic to your website, or raise awareness of your services, a promo film is the way to go!

Fundraising

These are films for raising awareness and support of your mission with a strong call to action at the end, like asking for donations or resources.

They are a useful tool to amplify your fundraising strategy and visually communicate the impact of your work on the people in your community. They’re a direct way to address the public.

Recruitment

Whether you want to recruit staff or volunteers, this is your chance to showcase what it’s like working for your community organisation and attract like-minded individuals to join your cause.

These can be a direct call to action through a piece to camera, a day in the life of a staff member or volunteer, or a combination of both.

Case Study

Focusing on human experience, case studies get to the heart of an individual person or an organisation that has experienced or benefitted from the work you do.

They’re a great way to build trust and credibility with the audience because they dive deep into the impact of your non-profit, through the eyes of the service users.

Training

At ThroughFilm we are passionate about sharing our knowledge and expertise to help raise aspirations, provide employability skills and increase confidence in young people and adults.

We are looking to collaborate with community groups to offer Digital Media skills training workshops that focus on providing a hands on learning experience.

Commissioning any film means you’re collecting a bank of footage you can re-purpose in the future too.
